This Star 2 performing arts class in Orpington is open to children aged 10–12 from any school or location.
Each week students take part in three hours of drama, dance and singing training, helping them develop confidence, creativity and strong performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Star 2 (Age 10–12) – Newstead Wood School, Orpington
Saturdays 10:30am – 1:30pm
Our Star 2 classes for ages 10–12 build on the foundations introduced in Star 1 and allow students to explore performing arts in greater depth.
During each session students take part in workshops covering:
✨ Drama – character development, script work and acting techniques
✨ Dance – musical theatre choreography and performance movement
✨ Singing – vocal technique, harmony work and solo opportunities
Students begin to explore stagecraft and performance techniques, helping them grow in confidence both on stage and in everyday life.
All classes are taught by professional performing arts coaches with experience working in theatre, television and film.
Students in Star 2 are encouraged to take greater creative ownership of their performances.
Through weekly training they develop:
• stronger acting and storytelling skills
• improved vocal technique and stage presence
• teamwork and creative collaboration
• confidence performing in front of an audience
Our small class sizes ensure every student receives individual encouragement and feedback.
Students in the Stars 1, 2 and 3 programme regularly take part in exciting performance opportunities including:
✨ end-of-term showcase performances
✨ full musical theatre productions in professional theatre venues
These experiences allow students to develop their performance skills and experience the excitement of live theatre.

Our Star 2 classes provide a welcoming environment where students can challenge themselves creatively while feeling supported and encouraged.
Many students continue their performing arts journey through our full Stars 1–3 programme, progressing into more advanced performance opportunities as they grow.
The Spotlights Stars programme provides a clear pathway for young performers.

• Star 3 (ages 13–18) – advanced musical theatre training
