Most students in this class work towards LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) examinations as part of their class work.
LAMDA exams help children develop:
• communication skills
• acting technique
• public speaking confidence
• performance skills
Students prepare solo acting pieces during their classes and can enter the exam to receive an internationally recognised qualification.
LAMDA exams are optional, but the majority of students enjoy working towards them.
Throughout the year, students take part in a range of performance opportunities that help them build confidence and stage experience.
During the year this typically includes:
• Summer Term: an open class where parents can watch a lesson and see what the students have been working on
• Autumn Term: an end-of-term showcase for family and friends
• Spring Term: participation in a musical theatre project performed in a theatre space alongside other Spotlights students
These performances give children the opportunity to experience the excitement of performing while developing teamwork and confidence.
Our Spotlights teachers collect children directly from their classroom at the end of the school day and escort them safely to the session.
Parents collect children from the agreed school collection point at 5:00pm.
We’d love to welcome your child to our performing arts class at Langley Park Primary School.
