LAMDA Exams

Most students in this class work towards LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) examinations as part of their class work.

LAMDA exams help children develop:

• communication skills
• acting technique
• public speaking confidence
• performance skills

Students prepare solo acting pieces during their classes and can enter the exam to receive an internationally recognised qualification.

LAMDA exams are optional, but the majority of students enjoy working towards them.

Performance Opportunities

Performance is an important part of the Spotlights experience.

Throughout the year, students take part in a range of opportunities that help build confidence and stage experience.

During the year this typically includes:

Summer Term: an open class where parents can see what students have been working on
Autumn Term: an end-of-term showcase for family and friends
Spring Term: participation in a musical theatre project performed in a theatre space alongside other Spotlights students

These opportunities allow children to experience the excitement of performing while developing teamwork and stage confidence.
