First Performing Arts Show Experience For Little Stars Student

Thomasโ€™s Spotlights Journey

Thomas has been coming to Spotlights for 2 years. Our Little Stars group is for children aged 4-7 years old. The group has a show that they put on at the end of each term which is focused around a theme.ย

When Thomas first started they were shy and worried about being part of the show. Thomas started to blossom and grow in confidence every week in the performing arts classes which was seen by not only his parents but also our Spotlights teachers.ย

As expected, when show time came around, Thomas had a great time and was very confident during the show and performed brilliantly. Everyone at Spotlights is very proud of how much he has grown in confidence and is enjoying our classes.ย

How We Support Our Students

All our Spotlights classes provide children the opportunity to try something different and fun in a friendly, non-pressurised environment. We believe in nurturing each childโ€™s potential while helping them develop valuable life skills through the magic of performing arts. Our drama classes, musical theatre classes, acting classes, and singing classes are designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and passion in every student, no matter their ability or age.

We have a unique STAR System that forms the structure of our classes and is the philosophy behind our on-going success.ย

S

Self Confidence

Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 20. Your child will have the support and attention they need to grow as a performer each week. Your child will receive feedback and encouragement from teachers on a regular basis. This will boost their confidence and challenge them to develop their skills and techniques.

T

Teamwork

Your child will be encouraged to work as part of a team in their class. We will teach your child that as performers, working together brings out the best in each other. Your child will work in small groups to perform pieces for the rest of the class. For example, your child will devise their own choreography, learn to sing in harmony and create group improvisations.

A

Active Learning

Each week your child will take part in exercises designed to develop their coordination, flexibility, communication, vocal projection, stage presence and performance technique.

R

Realising Potential

Realising potential is where the STAR system all comes together. Your childโ€™s self-confidence builds through team work and active learning to develop skills for a spectacular performance.

We were thoroughly impressed by the high quality of performances by the whole cast which clearly is a reflection of great teaching in all areas. We were very impressed with the show and our daughter cannot wait to get back on the stage. We would like to thank the whole Spotlights team for their continued enthusiasm, commitment and dedication and cannot wait for the next collaboration!

This is the 6th year our daughter has been going to Spotlights and she has genuinely loved every minute! She started in little stars where, with Monnie's nurturing and expertise, her confidence grew! The termly productions were amazing, and every child got a chance to shine on the stage!

I can't speak highly enough of the teaching team. Their Matilda production was simply amazing! Yet again every child was given an opportunity to shine! The show was extremely professional, and the kidsโ€™ faces said it all. They all loved it!
