Spotlights Students Securing Professional Work

Spotlights Talent Agency

We are very proud to have helped lots of our Spotlight children to secure professional work in tv, film and West End productions. Our Spotlights team are all passionate and trained in different disciplines of musical theatre allowing them to provide professional training to all our students.ย

We also have our very own Talent Agency! We have close relationships with many of the UKโ€™s leading child casting directors, giving us a channel to send our best talent to the right people. All current students have the opportunity to be part of our agency for no extra charge. If you are interested in your child being part of the agency, get in touch with Monnie.

How Audition Techniques Helped Our Students Get Professional Work

Patrick had a dream of pursuing a professional acting career when he started at Spotlights. With our professional teachers’ help in our Stars 1 group, we provided great auditioning techniques, hone their acting skills and performing show experience to build their confidence and musical theatre skills. Coupled with our Talent Agency team, this allowed Patrick to progress his career, notably where he played the role of Michael in ITV movie โ€œPeter and Wendyโ€. This movie won โ€œBest TV Movie or Mini-Seriesโ€ at the 2017 International Emmyยฉ Kids Awards.

How We Support Our Students

All our Spotlights classes provide children the opportunity to try something different and fun in a friendly, non-pressurised environment. We believe in nurturing each childโ€™s potential while helping them develop valuable life skills through the magic of performing arts. Our drama classes, musical theatre classes, acting classes, and singing classes are designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and passion in every student, no matter their ability or age.

We have a unique STAR System that forms the structure of our classes and is the philosophy behind our on-going success.ย

Circle

S

Self Confidence

Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 20. Your child will have the support and attention they need to grow as a performer each week. Your child will receive feedback and encouragement from teachers on a regular basis. This will boost their confidence and challenge them to develop their skills and techniques.

T

Teamwork

Your child will be encouraged to work as part of a team in their class. We will teach your child that as performers, working together brings out the best in each other. Your child will work in small groups to perform pieces for the rest of the class. For example, your child will devise their own choreography, learn to sing in harmony and create group improvisations.

A

Active Learning

Each week your child will take part in exercises designed to develop their coordination, flexibility, communication, vocal projection, stage presence and performance technique.

R

Realising Potential

Realising potential is where the STAR system all comes together. Your childโ€™s self-confidence builds through team work and active learning to develop skills for a spectacular performance.
