5 Top Tips for Auditions

Wednesday, November 27th, 2019

In January 2020 our Main school students aged 7-18 will have the exciting chance to audition for our production of ‘We Will Rock You’. We’ve put together our top 5 tips of how to do well in an audition whilst still enjoying yourself and having fun!.

  1. Think about doing some research about ‘We will Rock You’ before the audition and familiarise yourself with some key characters within the story-line. Even give some of the songs a listen especially ‘We will Rock you’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
  2. Have Confidence! During the audition try and stand with a good posture, give us your best smile and make eye contact with our teachers. Be yourself remember all anyone wants you to do is your best. However, if you are feeling a little anxious our teachers are there to support you. Having some nerves is good though it shows that you care!
  3. Come to the audition room with lots of energy and enthusiasm – we are all excited to see you perform. Whatever the part is you are asked to audition for you, you should show you are willing to take and follow direction, showing us your professional attitude.
  4. Listen to each other. Remember we can all learn and help one another.
  5. The most important tip is to have fun! Remember not to put too much pressure on yourself during the audition.

Every student is included in our production. It doesn’t matter if you are 7 or 18 years old everyone will have a speaking part to learn. Everyone can help to make the production as fantastic as we know it will be. If you would like to be a part of our production then book a free trial for January 2020.

Main School Production- ‘We Will Rock You’ for 7-18 year Olds

Friday, November 22nd, 2019

Get ready to fist pump! We are excited to announce that our Main school production for April 2020 is ‘We Will Rock You’. The worldwide smash hit musical written by Ben Elton featuring songs from the iconic band ‘Queen’ such as ‘Break free, ‘Somebody to love’, ‘Another one bites the dust and of course ‘We Will Rock You’. ‘

‘We will Rock You’ is set in a post-apocalyptic world where live music has been banned. Everyone wears the same clothes, has the same thoughts and opinions… to be honest everyone’s gone a bit radio gaga! The story follows a group of young rebels who are trying to restore justice whilst up against the Killer Queen. Will they succeed in time or will they be needing to break free?

Our Main School is for children aged 7-18 and every child within the production will be assigned a specific part with their own lines of dialogue. Our students will get the chance to develop their performing arts skills learning a number of different dance routines and musical numbers for the show.  We have found from past productions that our students really gain confidence from being part of the production, leaning on each other for support. We create a professional theatre production with authentic costumes, scenery, radio microphones and lighting.

If your child would like to be a part of our production of ‘We Will Rock You’ then why not sign them up for a free trial in January 2020 at one of our venues in Bromley, Beckenham, Orpington or Croydon.

Little Stars Production- Frozen 2 for 4-6 year Olds

Wednesday, November 20th, 2019

Grab your sledge, coats and scarves and get ready for a magical adventure!

In January 2020 our Little Stars will venture into the unknown with Elsa, Anna and Olaf in our mini production of Disney’s ‘Frozen 2’! Where they’ll meet a host of wonderful characters all the way from Arendelle and even a couple of new ones!

Through our tailored lessons our ‘Little Stars’ can develop their dancing, singing and acting skills, gaining the confidence to perform on stage in front of an audience. Every term each Little Stars class learn two contrasting dance routines together with two songs. During the term they will play games and complete exercises themed to the project, a fun way of introducing the story. Your little one will learn how to project their voice and develop their own character within the story.
We provide fantastic costumes for each child at no extra cost, so you won’t have to worry about making a costume for the show. Within our production it’s important to us that every child has a part to play with their own script and lines of dialogue. Every term we choose a production that you and your little one can have easy access too, a musical that is current and relevant. Frozen 2 is released this Friday so what better way to celebrate then to sign up and be a part of our magical show.

If your little one wants to build a snowman then why not sign up for a free trial for one of our classes in Beckenham, Bromley, Orpington or Croydon.
